Nico is a seasoned Strength & Conditioning Specialist with over 15 years of experience spanning various sports and levels. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Sports Science and earned his PhD from the University of New England, where his research focused on performance and recovery in Rugby 7s.
Nico’s coaching philosophy involves working backwards from the end-goal to develop the physical attributes essential for peak sport performance and effective return-to-play strategies. His meticulous attention to detail, sharp eye for movement, and dynamic presence define his coaching style.
Prior to joining Jointli, Nico served as Lead Performance Coach for the Chinese Olympic Committee, where he managed performance and
physiology services and coordinated injury management for Rowing and Canoeing athletes. His expertise has contributed to a range of
national, international, and Olympic medals. Additionally, Nico has worked with the Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute, specialising in
Return to Sport testing following ACL injuries.
